That one mug I tried to swap took 6 weeks to actually give away

Had this ceramic mug with a cat in a spaceship design that nobody wanted for over a month. I posted it in the swap group four times and even offered it free for just the cost of shipping. Finally a lady in Portland messaged me about it after I lowered the price to zero dollars. Has anyone else had a perfectly good item sit around for way longer than you expected?

Give it a rest, it's just a mug not a kidney. People want stuff that actually fits their life or makes them laugh in a split second. Six weeks is annoying but it finally moved, so what's the big deal?

@lucasschmidt has a point, but I think patience and the right audience are everything. What finally worked for me was posting in a more niche buy nothing group instead of the general swap page. That cat mug probably found its perfect home eventually, right?

Oh man, that's so frustrating when you can't even give something away for free lol. It makes you realize how much the "right person" matters more than the price, because that lady in Portland probably thought that cat mug was the coolest thing ever. There's definitely a weird invisible wall between stuff that's technically worth something and stuff people actually want to haul home.
