TIL that old vase I was gonna toss works perfect as a plant propagator

I put my pothos cuttings in a freebie vase I grabbed from this group and roots popped up in like 9 days instead of the usual 3 weeks. Anybody else find random household stuff that works way better than the thing you'd buy for it?

Ha wow I heard someone on a gardening podcast talking about how random glass containers actually trap humidity better than fancy propagation stations because of the narrow openings. Something about the air not moving as much. Makes sense since your roots popped up so fast. I grabbed an old pickle jar from the recycling and my begonia cuttings went nuts in it way faster than the special test tube thing I bought on Amazon.

Yeah but now you just got another random vase cluttering up the place for no reason.

My mom still has this ugly ceramic swan from 1987 that she "rescued" from a thrift store, and it's been a dust magnet in her living room for almost forty years now lol.
