Traded my bulky rice cooker for a stovetop steamer basket, night and day difference

I swapped a 6-cup rice cooker I never used for a $12 bamboo steamer basket on the swap board last Thursday. Cooked rice in it twice now and the texture is way better, plus it takes up almost no cabinet space. Has anyone else downsized their kitchen gear and found the simpler thing actually works better?
