A trucker at the Flying J in Flagstaff explained why my injector cups kept failing

He said I was overtightening them by about 8 ft-lbs and warping the seal surface, which I checked later with a micrometer and sure enough that was the issue, anyone else ever get a tip from a random driver that saved you hours of guessing?

Yeah I've had random old timers point out fixes that saved me days of troubleshooting. Did you notice any vibration changes when the cups started going bad before you pulled them?

Read somewhere that vibration is usually the first sign on these older machines, gets real wonky before the cups fully chew themselves up.
