Cleaned out my toolbox yesterday and counted 37 different 10mm sockets
I was sorting through my main box, getting rid of the junk and broken stuff, and I just started piling up every 10mm I found. Deep wells, shallow, 6-point, 12-point, impact, the ones with the grips that never work. Ended up with 37 of them. It hit me that I've been buying a new pack every time I lose one on a job for over 20 years now. I remember my first service truck, a beat-up Ford with a single socket set. Now I've got enough 10mms to supply a small shop. It's a dumb number, but it really shows how much stuff just... accumulates. You don't even notice until you look. Anyone else ever do a count and get a shock like that?

Man, that's a wild number! I have to say though, in my own time working on cars, I've lost way more 1/4-inch drive 10mms than the 3/8-inch ones. The little ones just vanish into thin air if you look away for a second. Your pile really shows how it adds up over the years without you even trying.

You ever read that thing about how 10mm sockets are the most lost tool in the world? Your pile proves it. I bet half of those are just replacements for ones that walked off. It's crazy how you can spend a fortune over the years just on one size.

Honestly, the 10mm thing is so real it hurts. My dad's old toolbox had a whole drawer just for spare 10mm sockets, like a little graveyard for the ones that never came back from a job. He claimed they got sucked into another dimension under the hood.
