DAE regret paying $340 for that "lifetime" injector puller kit from the tool truck?
Tool guy swore up and down it'd outlast three trucks. Two years in, the collet jaws are chewed up and the slide hammer threads stripped on a 6.0 job last month. Company won't warranty it, says it's wear and tear. Meanwhile the $89 set from the parts house has pulled four sets of stuck injectors without a hiccup. Wondering if anyone else got talked into the shiny kit and wishes they'd just put that money toward a decent torque wrench instead.
Did you actually read the terms on that lifetime warranty though? Because "lifetime" on a tool truck almost always means the life of the tool, not your life, and wear items like collets and threads are pretty much never covered no matter what the guy promised you. Two years of pulling stuck injectors is honestly not a bad run for $340 when you think about how much a shop charges for one injector job. The cheap set working four times doesn't mean it'll work the fifth, and half those parts house kits are the same overseas castings with a different sticker on the box. A torque wrench is nice but it won't pull an injector at 2am when the truck is down, and that's what you actually paid for.
