Ngl, I tried using WD-40 to clean my injectors and it gummed everything up
Sprayed it on a set of 1999 Cummins injectors thinking it'd loosen the carbon, but instead it turned into a sticky mess that took 3 hours with brake cleaner to flush out. Anyone else make the mistake of using that stuff on fuel parts?

Wait, @wendysanchez are you sure about that mineral spirits thing? I've heard it can mess with the o-rings on injectors if you leave them in too long, though I guess it beats WD-40.

Man that sucks, I've been there. WD-40 is great for some stuff but it's not a cleaner, it leaves that gummy residue behind. Had a buddy try the same thing on his Powerstroke injectors and ended up having to pull them all back out and soak them in mineral spirits for a weekend. The brake cleaner route is the only way to go, but three hours of that is brutal. At least you got it sorted out eventually, some people just trash their injectors and have to buy new ones.
