Rant: The 'quick fix' from last month just blew a turbo

Honestly, a fleet manager insisted we just clean the MAP sensor on a Duramax instead of doing the full diagnostic he paid for. Three weeks later, the truck's on the hook with a shredded turbo because the real issue was a failing EGR cooler. Anyone else constantly fighting this 'just make it run' mentality?

What's worse, when they ask for the quick fix or when they act surprised it failed? Ngl, I've been that guy ignoring the full story before, trying to save an hour and costing a week. Robin's got a point about where it comes from, but man, it feels like some folks think a mechanic's report is just a list of optional suggestions.
