That old timer at the truck stop in Amarillo said to stop using starting fluid, and I brushed him off
Last month I was grabbing coffee at the TA off I-40 and some old timer saw my can of starting fluid on the dash and said that stuff will wash the cylinders dry and eat your rings over time. I laughed it off because I've been using it for years on cold mornings, but then my 6.7 started knocking last week and now I'm second guessing everything. Has anyone else had a motor act up after years of relying on that stuff, or was he just old school?
