Why does nobody talk about cracked bell housings on Paccar MX-13s?
I was at a shop in Tulsa last month and saw three trucks in a row with hairline cracks near the starter mount, has anyone else run into that on high-mileage units?

Calling it a widespread issue off three trucks in one shop is a stretch. How many of those were even torque related versus casting flaws?

Is Paccar really trying to get into the "crack is wack" business or something? I mean, I've seen more hairline fractures on those starter mounts than on my uncle's old fishing rod after a big catch. Guess they figured if you're gonna crack, you might as well do it in style near the starter.
