Appreciation post: holding Shift while I paint masks saved me hours on my comic pages

I kept repainting the same backdrop on all 12 pages of my short comic until I figured out that holding Shift while clicking a selection in Photoshop paints a straight mask line, so now I lock the background in one swipe instead of fixing 40 little gaps, and I'm wondering if anyone has a smarter way to handle panel borders too.
