My city break photos turned into my best digital art yet
Honestly, I used pics from my weekend in Rome for a new series. Tbh, turning real light and crowds into digital art was a fun challenge. Do you think travel makes your art more real?

Totally get that, lol. I was stuck in a real rut with my own stuff until I took a trip last fall. Being somewhere new just forces you to see light and textures differently, you know? It's like your brain gets clogged using the same views out your window every day. Bringing that fresh feeling back to the studio is everything. It absolutely makes the work feel more grounded, even when you're turning it into something totally wild later.

Ever try taking quick photos or notes of random stuff you see on trips? I'll snap pictures of weird cracks in sidewalks or how light hits a trash can, just to jog my memory later in the studio.

Man, @the_ben that totally hits home. My weirdest creative bump ever came from a totally failed trip. Car broke down in some tiny town, spent two days in a gross motel. But staring at that ugly patterned carpet and the neon sign flickering through the blinds? It gave me this messed up color palette I used for months. Sometimes the shake-up you need is just things going wrong.
