My entire art show file got corrupted right before the upload deadline
Honestly, it was a nightmare. Two nights ago, I was putting the final touches on my five-piece set for the online 'Pixel Pulse' gallery. I went to save my main .kra file in Krita, and the whole program just froze. When I forced it closed and tried to open the file again, it was totally busted, just showing an error message. I had a backup from three days prior, but all my recent work on lighting and texture was gone. I spent the next six hours straight redoing everything from that backup, drinking way too much coffee. Ngl, I almost cried when I finally got the upload to go through with only minutes to spare. Has anyone else had a core project file just die like that, and what's your backup plan now?

Man that sounds so stressful. What do you use for backups now? I'd be saving after every single change after that.

I mean saving after every change is a bit much.

Honestly, I'm gonna go the other way. That backup from three days ago saved you, so the system kind of worked. Relying on one main file is the real problem, not how often you save. I just make a whole new save file with a new name for each big session, like 'project_v2', 'project_v3'. It takes two seconds and then you have a whole timeline to go back to. Corrupt files happen, but losing days of work doesn't have to.
