Oh man, that's the worst feeling... my old tablet used to do that right when I was in the zone. I'd just be staring at my own panicked face reflected in the black screen, wondering how to explain this to the client without sounding like a total mess.

Forget the client, the real gut punch is how you start doubting your own work. That black screen turns into a mirror and suddenly every idea you just had looks stupid. You're not just fixing tech, you're fighting the voice in your head saying you were never in the zone to begin with. It kills your flow way harder than any restart.

That reflection in a dead screen is a special kind of horror. @the_jennifer, it reminds me of the time my laptop fan sounded like a jet engine right before a big video call. I had to pretend my mic was broken and type everything into the chat, sweating bullets the whole time. You just sit there hoping the tech gods take pity on you for once.
