My portfolio went from a 60-image dump to 12 pieces, and I get way more replies now
Two years ago my Behance page had 58 images on it because I figured more work meant more chances to get picked up. Last March a recruiter in Chicago said she spent about 20 seconds on my page and remembered zero of it, which stung but was fair. So I cut it down to 12 pieces, put the three best ones first, and added a line under each one saying what problem it solved. Now it takes me maybe 40 minutes to prep a portfolio page instead of a whole afternoon of scrolling and picking. The weird part is people actually message me about the small stuff now, like how I did the shading on one character. I'm convinced a tight showcase beats a big gallery every time. Has anyone else cut their showcase way down and seen a difference?
