Rant: Software updates are forcing me to upgrade my gear way too often

This constant cycle is creating more e-waste than my art is worth.

My phone is from the stone age of tech, I swear. It starts crying every time a new app needs an update. I'm clinging to it like a life raft, but it's just adding to the junk drawer. Maybe my stubbornness is the real problem here, not the software. At this rate, I'll have a museum of outdated gear.

That "museum of outdated gear" line hits close to home. I see phones like that all the time, and they always have the same sad story. Like when Instagram needs a new version but your phone is stuck two years back, so it just gives up. Or the battery dies if you look at it wrong, and charging takes half a day. But hey, if it still makes calls, who needs all that new stuff, right. Until it becomes a fancy paperweight, anyway.

Hold up, I totally get where @jennifer_rivera is coming from, but clinging to old tech can be the smart move. You save money and create less waste, which is way better than chasing every new gadget. Your "stubbornness" might just be common sense.
