Showerthought: My tablet pen just gave up after 2 years of daily sketching

The nib wore down so smooth it wouldn't register pressure anymore, so I had to dig out the spare from the box. Anyone else have a Wacom or similar just kinda die on them out of nowhere?

My old Wacom Bamboo lasted almost a decade before the pen just stopped connecting. It was a real workhorse, survived art school and everything. The tablet itself still works, but I can't find a replacement pen that pairs with it anymore.

Yeah, I saw a whole thread about that exact problem with the old Bamboo pens. @young.nora, someone mentioned there's a specific chip inside the pen that they stopped making, so even third party ones are getting rare. You might have luck searching by the exact model number on the tablet itself, not just "Bamboo.

Guess it's just a pen wearing out, happens with all tools. How much drawing are you doing that kills a nib in two years anyway?

Everything feels like it's built to break these days.
