Unpopular take: that 4K showcase piece got 2x the likes but half the skill

I kept scrolling the front page last night and noticed a hyper-detailed 4K render with like 1,200 upvotes. Then I checked the artist's process shots and found they used a base mesh from a free asset pack, no custom topology, just heavy post-processing. I get that presentation matters but I've seen hand-painted pixel art with 50 colors get buried at 200 upvotes. Where's the line between showcasing technique and just polishing someone else's work? Anyone else feel like the raw skill gets punished in this community lately?
