I finally checked the CTR on my last 50 blog posts and the numbers are ugly

I spent 2 hours yesterday going through Google Search Console for my small roofing site. My average click-through rate is 2.1 percent for posts ranking in the top 5 spots. That seems crazy low to me. My meta descriptions must be garbage or the titles just aren't pulling people in. Has anyone else dug into their CTR data and found something that made you rethink your whole approach to titles and snippets?

Top 5 spots with 2.1 percent sounds rough, I feel your pain." A buddy of mine runs a local plumbing site and he noticed his CTR jumped a bunch just from adding numbers to his titles - like "5 Ways" instead of "Ways." I tweaked a few of my own older posts with that same idea and saw a small bump, but your mileage may vary on that one.

Wait, is a 2.1 percent CTR really that bad for top spots though, @wright.richard? Idk, feels like people click on way less stuff than they used to.
