The 2am inbox zero experiment I keep cheating on
I got tired of my email sitting at 1,847 unread and tried that batch processing thing where you only open your inbox twice a day. First week was great, then Tuesday hit and a client in Austin needed a last minute landing page copy change. I caved and opened it at 2am, but the trick that stuck was sorting by sender instead of date. Now I clear out all the newsletters from Mailchimp and HubSpot first, takes me 5 minutes and the real stuff actually shows up. Anyone else found a weird sorting method that beats the standard rules?

Did you ever try the opposite, where you sort by attachment size? I had this wild phase where I'd clear out the 10MB+ stuff first, just to feel like I was conquering my hard drive instead of my inbox. Backfired when I deleted a contract a client sent me six months ago, but it did make me realize how much junk I was hoarding. Now I just sort by sender but also filter out anything with the word "unsubscribe" in it, that's been my real cheat code.
