Appreciation post: a hostel chat in Bangkok changed how I see my work

Overheard a guy say he only works two hours a day, but they're his best two. He's a writer in Chiang Mai. I tried it yesterday and got more done than in my usual eight hour grind. Anyone else find less screen time actually means better work?

Doubt this works for actual serious jobs. Some projects need way more than two hours of focus. Sounds like a nice idea for a hobby.

Missing a deadline is a real fear, but that's why you plan for it. If you know you only have two good hours, you block everything else out and protect that time. It forces you to focus on the actual important task, not just filling the day. The grind makes you tired and your work gets worse. A short, focused burst can beat a long, distracted day.

Sounds like a great way to miss a deadline.
