My coworking space membership finally failed me after 8 months
Last Thursday I showed up to my usual spot in Chiang Mai, and the power was out across the whole building. No wifi, no backup generator, nada. I sat there for 45 minutes like an idiot before I finally packed up and walked to a random cafe 3 blocks away. The barista there let me plug in and use their wifi for free as long as I bought a coffee every 2 hours. Has anyone else had to abandon their main workspace last minute and figure out a backup plan on the fly?

Man, that sucks. Actually my buddy had the same thing happen to him in a co-working spot in Bali last year. The whole place lost water for three days, not just power, so the toilets were out and everything smelled bad. He ended up working from the lobby of a hotel nearby, just bought a cheap drink and camped out there for a week until his spot fixed the plumbing. Pretty wild how fast you gotta pivot when your main setup just stops working.

@the_joseph got it right, it's wild how fast things fall apart. Happens more than people think, not just with workspaces but with most stuff you rely on daily.

Wait, no backup generator at all in 2024? That's just asking for trouble in a coworking spot.
