Rant: My portable monitor died mid-flight over Bangkok.

I was working on a client project flying from Chiang Mai to Bangkok last Tuesday. Suddenly my USB-C monitor just stopped working with no warning. I had to finish the whole thing on my tiny laptop screen while sitting on a hot plane. Has anyone else had a portable monitor fail out of nowhere like that?

Hold up, what kind of USB-C cable were you using? I mean, I've had cheap cables totally crap out on me mid-transfer and take the whole monitor with them. Like, the connection just gets loose or the wire inside breaks, and suddenly nothing works. Was it the cable that came with the monitor, or some random one you grabbed from a drawer? I'm just wondering if the monitor itself is actually dead or if it's a cable issue.

nah but honestly i've used the cheapest gas station cables for years and never had a monitor die on me.
