Showerthought: Bali is basically one giant co-working cafe with great wifi

I spent 2 weeks in Canggu last month and I swear every third building is a cafe with a 'digital nomad special' menu. One place charged me $5 for a smoothie bowl and had a plug socket right next to every table, which was great until I realized the wifi password was 32 characters long. Has anyone else found a spot there with actually fast internet or is it all just hype?

The wifi password is longer than my attention span.

And the same people who complain about this will pay extra for a candle that smells like "productivity.

And THAT'S the thing, right? It's like the whole "digital nomad" thing has become this PERFORMANCE. Everyone wants the aesthetic of being productive in paradise, but the reality is you're hunched over a $5 smoothie bowl trying to decode a wifi password that looks like a cat walked on the keyboard. I've noticed the same pattern at my local coffee shop back home - they installed a "co-working" room with fancy lamps and charging ports, but the internet is actually slower than the regular seating area. It's like people just want to FEEL like they're getting work done in a cool place, even if they're just refreshing Instagram. Bali just amplifies that trend because the background is prettier and the prices are higher.
