Swapped coworking passes for a library card in Medellin, saved $180 a month
I used to drop $220 a month on a hot desk in El Poblado, thought I needed the networking to stay sane. Then my wifi died at the coworking spot for 3 days in a row back in March, so I tried the Biblioteca España up in Santo Domingo. It's free, has fast fiber, and the view over the city kills any office window I've ever had. Now I pay $40 a month for a cheap cafe backup membership and rotate between libraries across the city. The only downside is no conference rooms, so I schedule client calls for mornings when it's quieter. Has anyone else made the switch to public libraries as their main base? How do you handle video meetings without bothering people?
