That coworking space hack with noise cancelling headphones and a fan actually works

Tbh I was skeptical but I tried pointing a small desk fan at my laptop mic while wearing noise cancelling headphones. I work from cafes a lot and background chatter always gets picked up on calls. After 3 days of testing in a busy Melbourne spot, my clients said I sounded crystal clear. Anyone else got a weird setup trick for noisy spaces?

Actually the fan helps more for cancelling out keyboard clicks than background chatter lol.

Hard disagree, nothing beats white noise for drowning out other people.

Fans are okay but I tried using a box fan once and it was too loud for me. What actually worked was getting a decent pair of noise canceling earbuds. I bought some cheap ones off Amazon and they block out everything, keyboard clicks, people talking, the whole deal. The trick is to play some instrumental music or nature sounds through them, nothing with words because that distracts me. For me, the combo of earbuds and a small desk fan keeps the office noises from driving me crazy during work hours.
