That coworking space in Medellin had terrible WiFi the whole month I was there

I paid $200 for a month pass at a popular spot in El Poblado, and the internet kept dropping every 20 minutes during calls. People just sat there complaining instead of leaving or testing it first. Why do so many nomads assume a place is good just because it looks nice on Instagram? Has anyone else had luck finding reliable spaces in cities like that?

Did you check the reviews on coworking facebook groups before paying? Those places love to oversell their setup but locals usually spill the real tea in comments.

Honestly 3 out of 4 coworking spots in my town that look amazing on their website are actually gutted offices with folding tables and bad wifi. The real inside scoop is usually from people who've actually worked there for a month or more, not just popped in for a tour.

Hey @taylorc40, have you tried asking a local freelancers group on Facebook or Reddit before you buy? In my experience, people who've actually been there for weeks are way more honest than the staff giving tours. I ended up joining a shared office that had terrible photos online but great word of mouth from a graphic designer I knew. The wifi was solid and the folding table thing just wasn't an issue though the chairs were basic. Your mileage may vary but that's what worked for me when I got burned by the fancy website trick.
