Took me 19 days to get my bank to stop flagging every login from a new country
Back when I started doing this in 2019 I could just log in from Chiang Mai and nobody blinked. Now every time I move somewhere new my bank locks the account and I have to call a number that only works during US business hours, which is the middle of the night in Asia. This year it took 19 days and three separate calls from a guesthouse in Da Nang to get them to whitelist my account for travel. Anybody found a bank that doesn't treat you like a criminal for crossing a border?
Man, yes. I went through almost the same thing in Medellin last year, bank froze my card on day two and I had to sit up until 2am to catch their phone line. What got me was they kept asking security questions about stuff from like 2017, old addresses and a car I sold years ago. Took me about two weeks and four calls before they finally put a travel note that actually stuck.
