Vent: my Airbnb wifi died in Medellin and I got more done at a cafe with a 2 hour limit
I was in Medellin last week and my Airbnb wifi cut out for two full days right in the middle of a client deadline. I found a little cafe called Pergamino in El Poblado with a 2 hour wifi limit, and weirdly that timer forced me to plan my work instead of scrolling, so I finished everything by day one. Does anyone else work better with a hard cutoff on their sessions, or do you need the open ended setup to stay in a flow?
A library with a 45 minute computer session limit did the same thing for me last year, finished a whole project I'd been putting off for weeks. Something about a countdown makes my brain actually pick one task instead of ten.
That timer basically forces your brain into panic mode and suddenly you can actually focus on one thing. I bet if libraries made the limit 2 hours instead of 45 minutes, half of us would just scroll the whole time and get nothing done.
