My internship supervisor shredded my portfolio draft with 47 comments
Turned in a 14 page portfolio draft last Tuesday for my diploma program review and my supervisor sent it back with 47 separate comments. Most were about formatting issues like inconsistent margins and one random table that broke the page layout. I spent two days fixing everything and honestly felt like crap about it at first. But going through each comment one by one made me see he was right about 90% of them. The final version looked way cleaner and I got a passing grade on the first official submission. Anyone else get torn apart in a review only to realize it actually helped?

The part about him being right on 90% of them really hit home. I had a similar thing happen with my thesis outline last semester. My advisor basically tore it up and I was mad for a whole day. But once I sat down and fixed the stuff he flagged, I saw that most of his notes were about things I kept skipping because I thought they didn't matter. That clean final version got a way better response from the review board than my first draft would have. Sometimes you just need someone to knock you down a peg so you can see the mess you were missing.
