Overheard someone call online diplomas "paper for people who gave up" and I disagree completely

My cousin finished her nursing degree online while working nights and raising two kids, so I've seen firsthand how much work goes into those programs. The people saying that probably never had to balance a full-time job with clinical hours and exams. Isn't the real point that someone finished something hard, no matter how they did it?
