That fancy diploma frame I scoffed at turned out to be worth every penny

I always thought diploma frames were a total ripoff (like, who pays $80 for cardboard and glass?). But last year I got my degree after 6 years of night classes and my mom insisted on getting me a legit frame from a shop downtown. I rolled my eyes so hard, you know? But when I hung it up in my office, the UV glass they used kept the paper from yellowing after 8 months of direct afternoon sun. Plus the matting made the school seal pop way more than the cheapo frame I had for my associate's. I'm talking about a real difference in how it looks on the wall. Has anyone else found a specific brand or shop that actually delivers on those high-end frames?

You ever notice how we're trained to think the cheap version of everything is basically the same... until we actually own the good one for a while? That's how I felt about my kitchen knives too, bought a $10 block set, thought it was fine until I used a real chef's knife at a friend's house. It's like once you see the difference, you can't unsee it, whether it's frames or tools or whatever. The UV glass thing is real though, I've got old concert posters in cheap frames that look like they've been through a fire.
