Finally fixed that leaky pipe under my kitchen sink after 3 months of ignoring it

I noticed a drip back in July under the sink in my apartment in Chicago, but I kept putting it off with a bucket. This weekend the bucket overflowed at 2 AM and soaked a bunch of paper towels I had stored down there. Anybody else struggle with putting off a simple fix until it becomes a bigger mess?

Actually, I gotta push back on this a little. Let's say you're a renter and your landlord is terrible about fixing stuff. You call them, they come look at it three weeks later and say they'll order a part, then nothing happens. By month two you're just tired of fighting about it and figure you'll deal with it when the lease is up. People act like every household has a toolbox and free weekends to become a plumber, but life gets in the way. Three months of a slow drip might mean someone is just surviving, not ignoring it out of laziness.
