Got to 500 hours of DIY time this year and I'm split on whether I'm proud or embarrassed
I keep a little log of projects I do around the house. When I added up the hours last week I was at 498, so basically 500. Half of that was on a bathroom reno that took way longer than I expected because I kept redoing tile work. The other half was smaller stuff like fixing a leaky faucet and building a shed shelf. Here's the debate: on one hand that's a lot of time I could have spent doing other things, but on the other hand I saved a ton of money and learned a lot. Has anyone else hit a random hour milestone and wondered if they were being productive or just slow?

Redoing tile work drives me nuts, I'd be freaking out at those hours too.

Ray, I spent three weekends on one wall of tile and nearly lost my mind.

Three weekends, yeah I feel your pain, I used a leveling system and it saved my sanity.
