I finally understood the risk of loose screws in toddler rooms
We installed floating shelves in my daughter's nursery. A screw came loose after a few days. The shelf nearly fell while she was playing underneath. I tightened everything and added extra brackets. Double check all fittings in kids' spaces, it's not worth the scare.

It's wild how often people do the 'good enough for now' fix with stuff around the house. That shelf coming loose is a perfect example of a temporary solution failing at the worst time. With kids involved, that quick job just isn't worth the risk.

My friend's towel rack fell on her kid last week.

Home safety articles often point out how many accidents happen from things like towel racks coming loose. I read a report last year that said falling objects in bathrooms are a leading cause of minor injuries for kids. It's scary how something so simple can cause harm when it's not secured properly. People tend to underestimate the weight a towel rack has to hold, especially with wet towels. Proper installation with the right anchors is really important, especially in homes with young children.

Same thing happened to my cousin last year with a towel rack in her guest bathroom. She thought she'd just use those plastic wall anchors from the hardware store and called it done. A wet bath towel is way heavier than people realize, and that "temporary" fix failed right when her kid grabbed it to hang up a swimsuit.
