My dad told me my outlet boxes were too close together
I was wiring my basement in Wichita and my old man walked through. He pointed at my double gang box and said that's gonna be a nightmare to fit devices in. I had them butted right up against each other with no gap. Now I leave at least a 1/2 inch spacer between them. Anyone else get called out by family on their rough-in work?

My buddy in Topeka did the same thing with his basement... had those boxes damn near touching. His father in law came over and just started laughing. Told him he'd be fighting with the drywall guys and then cussing at devices for the next ten years trying to get them to sit flush. Poor guy had to rip out three boxes and redo them with spacers just to prove a point. He still brings it up whenever we talk about wiring. Family always knows how to call you out on the little stuff like that.
