Showerthought: I finally tried a 2-inch foam roller on my garage door weatherstripping job

Used a 1-inch roller first and it left gaps, but the wider one sealed it perfectly in one pass. Anyone have a go-to brand for these wider rollers?

Honestly I was a total 1-inch roller guy for years, thought anything bigger was a waste. Tried a 2.5 inch Purdy on a siding job last fall and it completely changed my mind on stuff like this. That extra width just gets it done in one smooth pass without the fuss. Now I keep a couple of the wider Wooster brushes around the shop for any sealant or adhesive work.

Right? Why do we all start with the tiny ones... I fought going bigger for so long but that first wide roller feels like cheating.

It's funny how that pattern shows up everywhere, not just paint gear. Kitchen knives are the same way - people start with those little paring knives for everything because they're scared of the big chef's knife. Then one day you finally grab the big one and wonder why you spent years making extra work for yourself. Same goes for snow shovels actually, everyone buys the narrow little ones but a wide pusher just moves the whole driveway in half the time. Once you figure out that bigger tools often mean less fighting and fussing, it kind of changes how you look at a lot of stuff.
