Swapped my standard drywall screws for coarse thread ones on a ceiling job
Used fine thread on the first sheet and it kept stripping out, then tried coarse thread and it grabbed like a dream. Finished the next 6 sheets in half the time. Anyone else notice a big difference switching thread types?

Finished the next 6 sheets in half the time" - yeah, because you weren't fighting the drywall screws like they were trying to get away from you. Fine thread on ceilings is just asking for trouble. It's like using a butter knife to cut a steak, sure you can do it but why would you want to? Coarse thread is the only way to go up there, especially if you've got old wood that's a little soft or you're just tired of cussing at your drill.
