That cheap outlet tester from Harbor Freight nearly got me zapped
Spent $6 on their non-contact voltage tester and it kept reading 'live' on a circuit I'd definitely killed at the breaker. Has anyone else had a budget tool fail at a dangerous moment like this?

You ever notice how the stuff that's SUPPOSED to be a shortcut ends up making you do the job twice as careful? That's the pattern I see everywhere, not just with tools but with anything cheap that promises to save time.
