TIL mixing paint by eye is a recipe for disaster
Used to just eyeball paint mixes for touch ups. Then last month in my basement I had to repaint a whole wall because the color was way off. Now I use a digital scale for exact ratios. Huge difference. Anyone else do this or still guessing?

Read somewhere that pro painters use a scale too, so you're not crazy.

My buddy Mike tried the scale method for a quart of touch-up paint last weekend and ended up with this weird over-mixed paste that was completely useless. Sometimes eyeballing it saves you from overthinking and making a mess.

Gotta disagree with @josepha32 on this one, lol. Eyeballing it is fine for small touch ups if you mix a tiny bit and test it on a scrap first. Scale feels like overkill for a quart of paint.
