Vent: I spent $80 on peel and stick tile for my kitchen backsplash and it's already peeling

Honestly, I thought it would be a quick weekend fix, but the adhesive started lifting at the corners after just two weeks. Ngl, I should have just saved up for the real tile and thin-set. Has anyone else had this happen and found a way to make it stick better?

My sister had the exact same thing happen with a $70 batch from a big box store. It peeled right off her bathroom wall in less than a month. In my experience, that adhesive just can't handle any steam or heat from cooking. You might try a stronger double sided tape just on the edges, but honestly, it's probably a band aid fix. I ended up pulling mine off and just painting the area with a glossy paint until I could afford the real deal. It's a total letdown when a project fails that fast.

Did she try cleaning the wall first?

Totally agree with @seanjackson about that weak adhesive! I switched to using liquid nails on mine and it finally stayed put.
