Why does nobody talk about using a water level for kitchen cabinets

I hung cabinets for like 10 years using a laser level and a 4-foot bubble level. Then my buddy who does commercial stuff came over and showed me his water level setup. Idk why I never thought of it before but you can get dead-on accuracy across a whole room without worrying about the laser drifting. Has anyone else tried this method or am I late to the party?

Oh man, I'm gonna be that guy. Water levels are fine for setting fence posts or laying out a patio but for kitchen cabinets they're a pain. You gotta keep refilling them, watch for air bubbles, and if the hose gets kinked even a little your whole reference is shot. Lasers are just faster and honestly good enough for cabinet work where you're usually dealing with plywood and shims anyway. Plus with a laser you can mark your line and move on without dragging a hose around the room.

Exactly susan_wright34 gets it, my old man swore by that method for everything.
