Had the worst deadline day of my life last Wednesday, still not over it lol

I'm a freelance graphic designer and I had a client project due at 5pm. My laptop completely died at 2pm, blue screen of death style. I had to run to the library and use their public computer, but my files were on a USB I dropped in the parking lot lol. A guy literally ran it over with his truck, bent the metal casing. Somehow the drive still worked, I got the project in at 4:58pm. Has anyone else had a computer fail RIGHT at the finish line?

That 4:58pm save totally changed how I think about backup drives.

Man you've hit on something real here. Used to think backups were just something you set and forget, like a boring chore. But after losing a whole project folder once because I got lazy about checking timestamps, I see that specific save time means everything. It's the difference between having a clean recovery point and staring at a 3 day old snapshot that's useless. Now I actually pay attention to when my last backup was, like it's a life alert for my files. That 4:58pm detail makes you realize how close you can cut it.
