Hand drafting vs CAD for my last project layout

I had to lay out a floor plan for a client a few months back. I spent 3 days on the computer tweaking lines and messing with layers in AutoCAD. Then I just printed it out and sketched over it with a pencil and scale ruler. It turned out cleaner and I finished in 2 hours. Anyone else find the old way actually faster when you're racing a deadline?

Printed it out and traced over it with a sharpie, way faster than any layer tweaking.

That's a clever trick @ivanross, but sharpie ink can bleed through thinner paper and ruin the bed surface if you press too hard. I'd test it on a scrap first to make sure the lines stay crisp.
