After 15 years of drafting, I finally tried laying out electrical plans on a tablet instead of paper

I was sure the stylus would never match the feel of a red pencil, but after finishing a full 3,000-square-foot house plan in one afternoon without any eraser shavings, I have to admit I was completely wrong about digital sketching - has anyone else made the switch and found it actually improved their accuracy?

I actually read a study that said digital drafting reduces errors by like 30% because you can zoom in and snap things perfectly. The lack of eraser dust is a huge bonus too, my desk used to look like a war zone.

Dude that eraser dust thing hits home. I remember back in high school drafting class we had this one kid who was so aggressive with his erasing he'd have a little mountain of rubber crumbs by the end of class. The teacher finally made him bring in a mini dustpan. But on the digital thing, I dunno, I feel like zooming in that much can make you miss the big picture sometimes. My buddy drafts for a living and he told me about a guy who spent three hours getting a single door hinge perfectly aligned in CAD only to realize he'd scaled the whole building wrong.
