Changed my mind about using a 0.5mm lead for everything
I was working on a big site plan in the office, and a guy named Mark from the next desk over saw me breaking leads. He said 'Try a 0.7 for the main lines... the weight feels better and you won't press so hard.' I switched for that one drawing and the lines were so much cleaner and consistent. Now I keep both sizes in my pouch. Anyone else find a different lead size changed their work?

Ever try a 0.9 for quick sketches? I was stubborn about my 0.5 for years, then a professor basically forced a thicker lead on me for underlay stuff. The lines just flow out without any fuss, and it stopped my habit of digging into the paper. Now I use the 0.9 for loose layouts and the 0.5 for details. It seems obvious now, but it took someone pointing it out.

That "lines just flow out" bit from @the_christopher finally convinced me to try it.
