Finally caught why my section views kept looking wrong

Been drafting for about 4 years now and just realized last month I was hatching sections with the wrong layer properties. I kept wondering why my sections looked darker than everyone else's when we printed. One of the senior guys walked by my desk, glanced at my screen, and just said 'your hatch layer is set to overplot instead of normal.' I changed it right there and my prints came out clean for the first time. Has anyone else had a super basic setting trip them up for way too long?

Man the layer properties thing got me too, spent way too many prints looking muddy before someone pointed it out.

Felt that so hard @christopher943. I read this one post on a forum where a guy was going crazy over his prints looking all rough and he'd been messing with temps and speeds for weeks. Someone finally said check the layer height settings and boom, it was set to like 0.1mm on a 0.4 nozzle and he was just making a mess. I literally had the same issue when I started, thought my filament was bad or my bed was warped. It's wild how one dumb setting can throw everything off and you just don't think to check it. My prints got way cleaner after I saw that tip, no more fuzzy looking crap on the sides.
