Had a pipe burst in a flip house last month because I skimped on a $15 fitting

Everyone says to always go cheap on PVC fittings since they're all the same, but that one off-brand tee split at 3am and flooded the basement. Any other drafters had a money-saving move blow up on them like this?

Yeah, that's rough. I feel your pain on that one, I had a cheap drain trap crack and drip behind a wall for weeks before I noticed it.

Did that $15 tee come from one of those no-name hardware stores or like a random Amazon brand? I had a similar thing happen with a toilet flange I bought on clearance... figured it was just a flush seal problem, but it cracked clean in half the next day and water was seeping through the ceiling downstairs.

I had a $12 toilet supply line from a big box store burst after three months. Cheap parts just aren't worth the headache.
