Hot take: I just read that the average architectural drafter spends 15 hours a week just on revisions.

Found that stat in an industry report from the American Design Drafting Association. I always knew revisions were a big part of the job, but that number seems crazy high. Some folks in my office say it's just part of ensuring accuracy, while others think it points to poor initial client communication. What's the revision time look like for you all?

Wasn't that report from the American Design Drafting Association, not the ADDA? Either way, 15 hours sounds about right lol.

Wait, are you sure about that name mix-up? I always thought ADDA was just the short version for the American Design Drafting Association (like how people say NASA). Honestly though, even if the report came from a different group, that 15 hour number feels way too low from what I've seen. Most folks I know in drafting spend way more time than that on a complex project, especially when changes get made.

Honestly, I'm with adamp31 on this. 15 hours a week just sounds like the job to me. If you're not fixing things, you're probably not doing it right. Clients change their minds, codes get updated, that's just how it goes. Making it sound like some big problem feels like looking for something to complain about.
