I used to hate layering hatches until a senior drafter showed me a trick
For years I'd just dump all my hatch patterns for different materials on one layer and call it a day. Then a guy named Dave at the shop in Cleveland spent 10 minutes showing me how he assigns separate layers for each hatch type with different transparency levels. Now I can edit one material without touching the others and it saves me at least 30 minutes per drawing. Has anyone else found a simple workflow change that made a big difference?

Dave's system is a game changer for sure, I started doing that after a buddy showed me.

Wait, is it just me or did Dave's system also come with a warning label that says "may cause obsessive checking of test results?" Cause that's been my experience. I've been using it for about two weeks now and I swear I've already turned into that guy who triple-checks his pH every single morning. Don't get me wrong, it's working great - my numbers are more stable than they've been in months - but I'm starting to wonder if I need a support group for the constant testing habit.

Started checking my levels like crazy too when I first got on it. What helped me was setting a specific time each day for the test and then NOT looking at the meter again until the next day. I also wrote down my results in a little notebook instead of staring at the digital readout every two seconds. After about a month the obsession calmed down and now it's just part of my routine like brushing my teeth. You'll find your groove with it, just give yourself a little grace while you adjust.
